Tallah Proves They Do It “For The Recognition”

Call ’em nu-core, nu-metal, or whatever you want, but Tallah‘s latest single “For The Recognition” is a fdfuriously kinetic curb stomp right from the get go. Released just days before their sophomore studio effort The Generation of Danger is released via Earache Records, the track is a hectic three and a half minute stomp through the mad.

According to the band, their second studio effort is a concept album that tells the story of a “genius scientist who gets fed up with being swept under the rug.” After the corporation he works for takes all of the credit for his work, he snaps and makes them participate in “the greatest experiment the world of science has ever seen.”

Tallah frontman, Justin Bonitz, said the song is all about being able to look yourself in the mirror and being able to convince yourself that the actions you’re about to take are the right thing.

“‘For The Recognition’ is a song about justifying why you are doing what you are doing. Blind ambition can only get you so far. If you have a dream, and you want to follow it to the end, you have to push yourself, be confident, and not allow anything or anyone to stand in your way. This is your vision, your story, and you have to do whatever it takes to bring all that hidden power to the surface and use it as fuel to show everyone how amazing you really are. Be honest and be the best”

As probably the craziest track they’re previewed for the new album yet, the end of this one in particular has some interesting instrumentation, according to drummer Max Portnoy (yes, he’s related).

“When I wrote this song, I made sure the ending pit hit really hard but was simple enough for us to trash our set up live. We took that mindset into the studio as well and smashed tons of lamps, microwaves, vases, etc and put those recordings in the song.”

The Generation of Danger will release on November 18, but preorders are available now through Earache Records.

If you’re willing to take their aural insanity head on, they’re currently on tour, with some dates also featuring Attila and others with Drowning Pool. Be sure to check the list below to see if they’ll be hitting a venue near you.
